course description

The Chamber Music Project of the Thueringische Sommerakademie will take place in August 2012 for the 20th time. Since 1993 hundreds of music students from all over the world came together in this place to work with international well-known soloists and chamber musicians to create a wonderful music in an atmosphere of inspiration and concentration. The public rehearsals and concerts are unforgotten highlights of the last years.
The International Chamber Music Week is open for music students, future soloists, chamber musicians and ensembles who want to obtain greater chamber music experience in varied formations. A diverse repertoire is planned and can be influenced by individual wishes of the participants. Rehearsals will be lead by well-known soloists and chamber musicians

The course will take place in Böhlen, a small village overlooking the Thuringian Forest situated in the beautiful countryside between Weimar and Coburg – home of the Thüringische Sommerakademie since 1992. Located in a former factory, the academy is now a well-known meeting place for workshops in art and poetry, theatre, dance and music. Böhlen is reachable in about 4–5 hours by car from Frankfurt, Munich or Berlin.
