International Chamber Music Week 2008, august 15 - 24th The Chamber Music Project of the Thueringische Sommer Akademie will take place in August 2008 for the 16th time. Since 1993 hundreds of music students from all over the world came together in this place to work with international well-known soloists and chamber musicians to create a wonderful music in an atmosphere of inspiration and concentration. The public rehearsals and concerts are unforgotten highlights of the last years. The International Chamber Music Week is open for music students, future soloists, chamber musicians and ensembles who want to obtain greater chamber music experience in varied formations. A diverse repertoire is planned and can be influenced by individual wishes of the participants. Rehearsals will be lead by well-known soloists and chamber musicians like Eduard Brunner and the members of the Minguet Quartet. The number of participants is limited. Coached rehearsals will usually be held daily. Limited individual lessons are available. Concerts will be given by the teachers and the participants together in Böhlen and other places nearby. The Place The course will take place in Böhlen, a small village overlooking the Thuringian Forest situated in the beautiful countryside between Weimar and Coburg – home of the Thüringische Sommerakademie since 1992. Located in a former factory, the academy is now a well-known meeting place for workshops in art and poetry, theatre, dance and music. Böhlen is reachable in about 4–5 hours by car from Frankfurt, Munich or Berlin. More information, train connection to the neighbour village will be included in the confirmation or are available upon request. |
